TechFlow News, May 12 — Kevin Warsh, the Trump-nominated next Federal Reserve Chair candidate, cleared a key procedural hurdle in the Senate on Monday local time. Chair Powell’s term ends this Friday. The Senate is expected to vote to confirm Warsh as a Fed governor for a 14-year term as early as Tuesday, following the so-called “cloture vote” on Monday. Subsequently, lawmakers will also begin the confirmation process for his concurrent role as Fed Chair for a four-year term, with a vote possibly happening as early as Wednesday. The Republican-controlled Senate is expected to approve Warsh as the next Fed leader. The next Fed meeting (potentially Warsh’s first as Chair) is scheduled for June 16-17 local time. (Jin Shi)
