PANews, July 10 – Fidji Simo, head of applications at OpenAI, announced on X platform that due to worsening chronic illness requiring long-term recuperation, she has decided to resign from her full-time role and transition to a part-time advisory position. Simo said she has been battling a chronic disease over the past seven years and has now realized that recovery demands her full focus. Simo stated that she will continue to support OpenAI’s mission in the future and will advance the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare through OpenAI as well as the biotech projects she is involved in. She noted that one of AI’s most important directions is helping humanity solve real-life problems, especially disease treatment and medical innovation.
