Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said the outcome of the Senate vote on the Clarity Act was deeply disappointing, but added he remains optimistic about the future of cryptocurrency in the U.S.

In a post on X, Garlinghouse said Ripple had made every effort to secure passage of the Clarity Act, describing it as an opportunity not just for Ripple or any single company but for the broader industry, consumers, and the U.S. to strengthen its position as a global crypto hub and a leader in the future of finance. He added, however, that consumers and U.S. competitiveness were ultimately pushed aside and said a post-mortem on the failure is needed.

Garlinghouse also said the future of U.S. crypto remains positive, adding that the SEC and CFTC will continue working on rules to fill the legislative gap and that Ripple will actively take part in the rulemaking process.
