Crypto market broadly rallies, DeFi sector leads with nearly 7% gain
Tapbit news, September 18 – According to SoSoValue data, with the U.S. rate hike now settled and oil prices retreating, along with the SEC's issuance of an "innovation exemption" driving on-chain trading of tokenized NMS stocks, panic sentiment quickly subsided. Crypto market sectors trended broadly higher, with 24-hour gains generally ranging from about 2% to 7%. Among them, the DeFi sector performed strongly, rising 6.80%. Within the sector, Genius (GENIUS) rose 20.66%, while Uniswap (UNI) and Hyperliquid (HYPE) gained 14.81% and 10.01%, respectively. Other standout sectors included: the DePIN sector, up 5.55% over 24 hours, with Geodnet (GEOD) rising 44.90%; and the RWA sector, up 4.95%, with Ondo Finance (ONDO) gaining 9.53%.
In other sectors, the Layer 2 sector rose 4.46%, with Arbitrum (ARB) up 18.69%; the Meme sector rose 3.79%, with Useless Coin (USELESS) up 14.21%; the Layer 1 sector rose 3.67%, with NEAR Protocol (NEAR) up 22.91%; the PayFi sector rose 1.94%, with Zcash (ZEC) up 8.93%, continuing to hit new all-time highs; and the CeFi sector rose 1.86%, with Aster (ASTER) up 4.52%.
