UK ‘slaps’ Trump, denies participation in US blockade of Strait of Hormuz operation

BlockBeats news, April 13, according to the Financial Times, informed sources revealed that the UK will not participate in the U.S. blockade operation in the Strait of Hormuz. Last night, Trump claimed that after U.S.-Iran peace talks failed to achieve a breakthrough, the U.S. Navy would block this crucial waterway. The U.S. will deploy more minesweepers to the Strait of Hormuz. NATO also “wants to help clear the strait,” with the UK and other countries also sending minesweepers.

A UK government spokesperson stated: “We continue to support freedom of navigation and the openness of the Strait of Hormuz, which is vital for supporting the global economy and alleviating domestic cost of living. There must be no charges for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. We are urgently working with France and other partners to form a broad coalition to protect freedom of navigation.”
