DeepWave TechFlow News, August 03, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent: “Our government supports trusted partners of the United States. Economic security is national security, and the U.S.-Japan alliance is built on both. The coordinated foreign exchange operation last Friday addressed disorderly fluctuations in the yen. The Treasury remains vigilant and maintains close communication with colleagues at the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Japan. We will not hesitate to participate in further joint intervention. The FIMA Repo Facility (Foreign and International Monetary Authorities Repo Facility) is an important backstop. We encourage expanding its scale in the coming months. We strongly support Japan’s decisive market and monetary measures to correct the yen’s significant undervaluation.” (Jin Shi)
