U.S. lawmakers urge SEC to investigate ‘suspicious’ transactions during Iran war

BlockBeats news, April 9th, a U.S. congressman stated that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) should investigate abnormal trading activities in oil and stock futures markets shortly before President Trump postponed military strikes against Iran last month. “The speed, scale, and structure of the trades are highly suspicious,” said Congressman Ritchie Torres, “The facts are clear, and neither the SEC nor the Commodity Futures Trading Commission can turn a blind eye.”

The Democrat called on regulators to launch a formal investigation into trading in oil, energy, and stock futures markets in the minutes before Trump’s post on March 23rd and to obtain transaction records of accounts related to these trades. (Jin10)
