PANews reported on December 23 that, according to PeckShieldAlert monitoring, wallet addresses 0x1209…e9C and 0xaac6…508 had approximately $2.3 million worth of USDT stolen due to a compromised private key. The attackers then exchanged the stolen USDT for 757.6 ETH and laundered the funds through TornadoCash.

PANews reported on December 31 that Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat and chairman of BitMine, wrote on the X platform: "Typically, during these last holiday trading sessions, many institutional investors exit the market, and algorithmic trading programs and bot trading programs begin to dominate the market, along with sell-offs for tax avoidance.
