XRP ETF Inflows Are Rising, but RLUSD Adoption Still Does Not Guarantee XRP Demand

- XRP ETF inflows provide a growing route for institutional exposure, but daily demand remains uneven.

- RLUSD custody, settlement, and collateral use can expand Ripple’s infrastructure business without requiring institutions to hold large XRP balances.

- Direct XRP demand would be stronger if institutions used the token for liquidity, currency conversion, cross-border settlement, or market-making.

- Rising exchange reserves may increase potential selling supply and make a sustained XRP breakout harder to confirm.

- A move toward $210 would require persistent ETF inflows, stronger liquidity, broader market support, and clear evidence of institutional XRP usage.

XRP ETF inflow chart

Ripple has spent October building a stronger institutional story around its payments, custody and trading businesses. Standard Chartered now supports custody for RLUSD on the XRP Ledger. DriveWealth is working with Ripple on stablecoin settlement and digital asset infrastructure. Ripple Prime has also expanded its institutional offering.

These announcements matter for Ripple. They are not automatic proof that institutions are buying and holding XRP, though.

That distinction is becoming increasingly important as XRP traders assess ambitious price forecasts, ETF demand and the real economic role of the XRP Ledger.

XRP Is Trading on a More Complicated Narrative

XRP recently traded near $1.30, while its market capitalization stood at more than $80 billion according to the data referenced in the latest market coverage. The token remains far below the $210 year-end forecast that has circulated among some market commentators.

A move to $210 would require a dramatic repricing. It would not be explained by a handful of partnerships alone. XRP would need sustained demand from investors, institutions, trading venues and payment users, supported by much stronger liquidity than the market currently shows.

The latest price action reflects that gap. Ripple is announcing more institutional products, but XRP has not responded with the kind of sustained rally that would confirm the market is pricing in a major change in demand.

Ripple’s Institutional Expansion Is Real

Ripple’s recent announcements are not all the same type of development.

On October 6, Ripple said it had deepened its relationship with Brevan Howard through Ripple Prime, offering brokerage, clearing and financing services across multiple asset classes. Brevan Howard’s approximately $35 billion in assets under management refers to the investment group’s overall business, not to a disclosed XRP allocation.

On October 12, Standard Chartered launched institutional custody for RLUSD issued on the XRP Ledger. The bank is also working with Ripple and LMAX Group on a model that could allow RLUSD to be used as eligible trading collateral, subject to testing, documentation, regulatory requirements and internal approvals.

DriveWealth later announced plans to integrate RLUSD settlement into its global brokerage infrastructure, beginning with Europe and potentially expanding to the United States. The partnership also covers payments, custody and equity financing through Ripple Prime. DriveWealth supports investment platforms and financial institutions across several markets, so the relationship could give Ripple a wider distribution channel.

These developments strengthen Ripple’s position as a financial infrastructure provider. They do not yet tell us how much XRP institutions will need to acquire or hold.

RLUSD Adoption and XRP Demand Are Different Things

The easiest mistake in the current XRP narrative is to treat every Ripple announcement as a direct XRP catalyst.

RLUSD is a dollar-pegged stablecoin. It can be held in custody, used for settlement or posted as collateral without institutions taking a large directional position in XRP. The XRP Ledger may benefit from higher activity, but the amount of XRP required for transaction fees is very small.

The stronger XRP demand case would involve institutions using the native token itself for cross-border liquidity, currency conversion, settlement or market-making. Those activities could require larger XRP balances and create a more direct link between Ripple’s commercial growth and the value of XRP.

Until that evidence appears, RLUSD adoption mainly proves that Ripple is expanding its stablecoin and infrastructure business. It does not prove that XRP is becoming the primary institutional asset within that network.

ETF Demand Has Not Been a Straight Line

XRP ETFs remain one of the clearest ways for traditional investors to gain exposure to the token. Recent ETF data shows that the products have attracted substantial cumulative inflows, with total net assets approaching $1.5 billion.

The latest daily figures, however, were less impressive. Data for October 23 showed no net flow across the tracked XRP ETFs, following an inflow of roughly $3.5 million into Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ on October 22. This suggests that institutional access exists, but demand is not moving in a straight line.

A successful ETF market can support XRP over time, but traders should focus on the trend rather than any single inflow day. Persistent weekly inflows would be more meaningful than a temporary burst of buying tied to a news headline.

Exchange Reserves Are Sending a Less Comfortable Signal

Recent market reports indicate that XRP reserves across Binance, Upbit and Bithumb increased by about 120 million tokens between October 5 and October 20. Rising exchange balances do not automatically mean that holders are selling, but they do increase the amount of XRP potentially available for trading.

There has also been renewed attention on whale deposits to Binance. XRP fell back toward $1.33 after failing to reclaim the $1.40 area, while ETF demand weakened. The combination does not confirm a bearish reversal, but it makes a sustained breakout harder to justify without stronger spot buying.

For XRP, the next useful signal is not another partnership announcement. It is whether exchange supply begins to decline while ETF inflows and spot volume rise together.

The $210 Forecast Needs More Than a Bullish Narrative

The $210 XRP prediction has attracted attention because it offers a simple and dramatic headline. But the forecast depends on several assumptions that remain unproven.

Ripple would need to convert its institutional relationships into recurring transaction demand. RLUSD would need to gain meaningful settlement and collateral usage. XRP itself would need a larger role in liquidity and cross-border transfers. ETF investors would need to continue adding exposure, while the broader crypto market would need to support a sustained altcoin rally.

None of these outcomes is impossible. The problem is that they are not yet the same as confirmed facts.

A more useful way to evaluate XRP is to ask whether each announcement changes the amount of XRP that institutions must hold. A custody service for RLUSD may expand Ripple’s reach without creating significant XRP demand. A settlement system that relies on XRP liquidity would be more important for the token’s investment case.

What XRP Traders Should Watch Next

The Federal Reserve’s October 27–28 meeting could affect the entire crypto market. A hawkish policy signal may pressure Bitcoin and altcoins, while a more supportive tone could improve appetite for higher-risk assets.

For XRP specifically, traders should watch whether price can reclaim the $1.40 area, whether ETF flows become consistently positive and whether XRP reserves on major exchanges continue rising. The implementation of the DriveWealth partnership and the planned RLUSD collateral framework will also matter more than the original announcements.

Ripple has made meaningful progress in institutional finance. The unresolved question is whether that progress will accrue mainly to Ripple’s corporate services, to RLUSD, to the XRP Ledger, or directly to XRP holders.

That is the question behind the current XRP debate. It is also why a $210 forecast remains speculation rather than a market conclusion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does RLUSD adoption automatically increase XRP demand?

No. RLUSD can be used for custody, settlement and collateral without institutions holding large amounts of XRP. XRP demand would be more directly affected if institutions used the token for liquidity, currency conversion or cross-border settlement.

What is the latest XRP ETF situation?

Recent data shows that XRP ETFs have accumulated meaningful assets, but daily flows remain uneven. The tracked products recorded no net flow on October 23 after a modest inflow the previous day.

Can XRP reach $210?

A move to $210 would require an extreme increase in market value and liquidity. It would likely need sustained ETF demand, broader crypto market strength and clear evidence that institutions are using XRP itself rather than only Ripple’s services or RLUSD.
