PANews, June 25th – According to The Block, Solana Meme coin launch platform Pump.fun is recruiting a Chief Legal Officer with an annual salary of 1 to 5 million USD, covering US digital asset regulatory matters such as SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, and OFAC, while also responsible for compliance management in the UK, EU, and Asia-Pacific regions, and handling investigations, lawsuits, and requests from enforcement agencies.
Pump.fun has been involved in controversies multiple times over the past two and a half years. The recently launched rewards marketplace Pump.fun GO has drawn criticism for users posting extreme tasks, which have since been removed. During the 2024 Meme coin boom, the platform’s live streaming feature was used to promote self-harm, violence, and animal abuse tokens. The platform paused this feature and relaunched it with stricter review policies. Additionally, Pump.fun is facing a class-action lawsuit in New York, accused of operating unregistered securities and running a racketeering enterprise.
