PANews, August 8 – According to CoinDesk, cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has filed a civil lawsuit against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), its intelligence agency Reconnaissance General Bureau (RGB), and the hacker group Lazarus Group, which is believed to be linked to North Korea. Lazarus Group stole $1.5 billion from Bybit exchange last year. The court has issued a preliminary injunction, freezing some of the stolen assets held by unidentified individuals and entities, and prohibiting them from transferring or selling related assets during the lawsuit. Bybit stated that the preliminary injunction means the federal judge has ordered the defendants not to transfer or sell their holdings while the case is pending. The exchange added that it will seek further relief from the court.
